i was going to have my first kill by myself and walk into heoret hall and i walk in and grendel steals my amulet and crushes it why the hell and how did that happen | |

Yes, it's over... Soon Beo will update the kingdom so the King informs you that Grendel has won the war. Grendel steals amulets, it's his specialty. If you sit still for even a few seconds, Grendel will rob it. The only way I have found to stop Grendel from stealing your cosmic is to attack him, because he will just attack back instead of stealing the amulet. Don't do anything else in front of Grendel, such as drinking a cup or equiping an item, because he will steal your amulet during that time. | |

Yeah... That sucks. You're still learning though, so don't be too upset. This game is a learning process, and as long as you're able to learn from your mistakes you will constantly be getting better and faster at "winning." With proper preparation in the Thrall kingdom, I was able to take down new Karl kingdoms within 2 hours after they opened. In time you'll laugh about this loss (I have found that the things in GC that make you the most upset, eventually become your funniest memories in time). | |

Yes, that's happened to me once too. Did you open up another thane while he was chasing your active thane? If grendel is after one guy, but you are moving around another thane in the same kingdom, he will start crushing your magical items starting with your world amulets. When grendel is chasing you, do not go to sleep if you are holding anything valuable. | |

Member Posts: 85 | He was in heoret hall I clicked to go in and when it brought it up it said he took amulet and crushed I didn't get a chance to do anything at all I just walked in. So how do I go to him and attack before he does this? Thanks I'm hoping I can get that good. It took me about a week | |

I always fight grendel with the assumption that he will snag the yggdrasil, because he often will. The way to be ready for this is being equipped with spying and pick-pocketing, that way you can steal it right back | |
